My Ed Sheeran Ticket Arrived!

So after months and months of anticipation and waiting, my Ed Sheeran ticket finally arrived today!  I have loved Ed Sheeran for as long as I can remember, and its barely sinking in that I will get to see and hear him next Sunday!  I’ve always loved his music because each piece has not only had such stunning vocals, but they also felt like I was listening to something so personal.  I can easily pick a deep and personal song from each album that I thoroughly enjoy each time I listen to it (in case you were curious; + is The A Team, X is I’m a Mess and Divide is Nancy Mulligan).

I think what made me love Ed Sheeran so much over the years is the fact he has stayed so humble, and his personality always seems to have been the same.  He seems to have grown more confident over the years, but he has never seemed ‘above’ his fans like some artists I’ve seen have.  I’d happily and willingly pay for a meet and greet but I read somewhere that Ed doesn’t think that a fan should have to pay to just say hello and meet him.  I mean, I totally respect that, of course, but… I’m paying £80 ($106) or more for a ticket just to hear you sing live, so what’s an extra £30 or so to meet him?  I mean, I will totally accept this point if he meets his fans after or before a show, but if there is zero chance of ever meeting him then I really hope a meet and greet can be on the cards in the future because I really want to tell this person how much they have impacted my life.

Often people that suffer with depression or anxieties will tie themselves to some form of music because it really does help to drown out the ongoing problems in your life.  I often find when I put my headphones in and just listen to some music, all the problems seem to melt away while that is playing, more specifically when Ed’s music is playing.  His music has such a way of making me feel good, and I would really like to tell him how much he has inspired me and how much his music has impacted my life positively.

I guess all I’m really hoping for currently is that he is as good live as he is on the albums.  I have no doubt he will be fantastic, especially since I have watched some live videos.  I’ve tried to abstain from watching too many live videos as I want to experience his live vocals from afresh.  I’ve never seen him live and I want this to be special.  I think the only problem that I do have with the gig is that I am going alone.  I’m not fantastic at talking to new people and I do find it very difficult just approaching others randomly, so I doubt I will meet people and make friends there.  But that’s okay, I’m sure I’ll get through it.

As a side note, if anyone is attending future Ed Sheeran concerts, please make sure as well as your ticket, you have a printed copy of your booking confirmation, some form of ID (like a passport or driving licence) and the card you paid with.  If you don’t have all of these items you will be turned away from the concert.

Stay safe and I love you all,

Chunky but Funky, xo
